Panchalimedu is located 10 km far from Kuttikkanum. We have to deviate 7 km at murinjapuzha on Kottayam-Kumily route[NH220]. Taxis are only available from murinjapuzha or kuttikkanum to panchalimedu. Its altitude is 2500 ft. It is a very beautiful grass medu. Every one like its ethernal atmosphere and we can feel the coolness of mist even at midday. From the west side of Panchalimedu mundakkayam valley can be seen and mist are slowly coming from the deep of cliffs and it will gradually hides us with eachother.
There exists a small temple of Bhuvaneswary, a Sivalinga with some statues of serpents and a cave with the foot print of Bheemasena. MakaraJyothy of sabarimala can be seen from on the top of panchalimedu on Makarasamkranthy day.
